-Get predicted your life in minutes!
The Nadi Astrology is the most ancient Indian method of Astrology, which gives an insight into one’s past, present, and the future lives.
It is believed that thousands of years ago, the seven Indian great sages or the Sapta Rishes had the power to look into the past and future of the entire universe and recorded the life of each human being who lived, were living or were to live. These Sapta Rishes were Bhrigu, Angira, Atri, Vishvamitra, Kashyapa, Vashishta, and Agastya. Their discussions were written initially on palm leaves in Sanskrit. Each of rishis has a Grantha from which his knowledge is dispersed. These Granthas include the Agastya nadi, the Brighu nadi, the Brahma nadi, the Shiva nadi, the Kaushika nadi ( Vishwamitra) etc. It is also believed that these inscriptions were written by Ganesha.
The sage Agasthya has written in Tamil. Later, other Sanskrit texts were translated in Tamil. The Marata King Sarabhoji and the Chola kings patronised this form of astrology and translations. The nadi reader traditionally follows the writings on just one of the great rishis.
Nadi in Sanskrit means the pulse or the subtle channels in the body or a division of time (24 minutes). In Tamil, Nadi means in search of. According to Yoga and Ayurveda, Nadi are the subtle channels which give message to the different parts of the body plus the Ida, the Pingala and the Sushumna nadi. Each Nadi is made up of a particular ola or palm leaf, written in Vatta Ezhuthu , a Tamil script, using a sharp, nail-like instrument called Ezhuthani.
The palm leaves are preserved by rubbing the peacock oil on auspicious occasions and during the British Rule, the British sold these leaves to the people belonging to the Valluvar community in Tamil Nadu. Some of these leaves are still preserved in the Saravasti Mahal library of Tanjore or Thanjavur, in the state of Tamil Nadu.
The primary centre for Nadi Shastra is in Vaideeswaran koil, located about 24 kms from Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu. In this temple, the Lord Shiva is said to have assumed the role of a vaidhya or doctor, who alleviated the miseries of his devotees. It is also believed that a bath in the holy waters of the Siddhamirtham tank within the temple complex will cure all diseases. Nadi Shastra is the most traditional skill of the temple.
In Nadi Jyotisham, the palm leaf inscription of an individual is spotted out by his thumb impression. As the lines on the thumb of people on the earth are classified into 1008 types, the Nadi palm leaves are arranged according to these types.
The Nadi readers identify the particular types of lines on the thumb and they take the corresponding set of palm leaves. The time duration to pick up the leaf depends upon the identification of the thumb impression. The text is written in Vatteluttu, which is an ancient Tamil script and the predictions were written in verse and are subject to interpretation by the astrologer. This art of Nadi shastra is passed on from one generation to the other.
The Jyotish Nadis Granthas divide the information on each individual life into sixteen chapters or the kandams, with each kandam showing the various aspects of life similar to the horoscope and its twelve houses. But there are added kandams, which are the real key of the Nadi reading. The details covered in each Kandam are given as below.
