Day-1

Arrive into Trivandrum

Onto Kovalam(13 Kms-40 Min)

Hearty welcome to the Capital City of Kerala!

Our friendly Local Representative will be waiting for you at the Trivandrum Airport to welcome you.

From the airport we drive to the world-renowned beach resort of Kovalam  – just 13 kilometres away.

Check into your beach resort.

The rest of the day is free for you to experience and know why Kovalam beach is so universally admired. Thanks to its natural location, Kovalam is also one of the safest beaches in the world.

DAY 2

Enjoy Kovalam

Trivandrum City Tour

After breakfast we can proceed for a Half day city tour in Trivandrum.We can vsit Padmanabha swami Temple,hourse Palace,Museum &Srichitra Art Gallery..

Back to the Resort by noon,rest of the day is free for you enjoy the inviting sun, sand and surf of Kovalam.

DAY 3

Onto Kanyakumari ; (80 kms-3.30 Hrs)

Visit Vivekananda Memorial

After breakfast, we drive to Kanyakumari – the southern most tip of the Indian sub-continent. En route we make a detour to Sri Padmanabha Puram Palace – the former residence of the erstwhile Maharaja of Travancore. Marvel at the splendours of a royal past.

Arrive at Kanyakumari – the confluence of the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal - by afternoon and check into your hotel.

Enjoy lunch and relax.

 Later board a boat to the just offshore Vivekananda Memorial – located on a huge rock, in memory of Swami Vivekananda, the Great Indian spiritual leader.

Then watch the glorious sunset from the seashore. On a full moon day, observe, with disbelief, the sunset and moonrise simultaneously. This spectacle can be witnessed nowhere else in India.

DAY 4

Onto Madurai (255 Kms-6 Hrs)

Visit the amazing Meenakshi Temple

After breakfast, we set out to Madurai. You are about to enter a very special city. Madurai is over 2500 years old and is the second largest city of Tamil Nadu. Ancient seat of learning, the city is planned in the shape of a lotus.

Check in to your hotel at Madurai by after noon.

After lunch, in the afternoon, visit the famous Madurai Meenakshi Temple. There are four entrances to this amazing temple complex set in six hectares. Marvel at the truly majestic towers, twelve of them, pointing skywards at 45 to 50 metres.

Beat some of the stone pillars in the complex with any hard object and feel incredible on hearing sweet metal sounds. You now know why they are called musical pillars. By the way, the total number of pillars in the temple is a staggering one thousand.

DAY 5

Onto Periyar(155 Kms-3.30 Hrs)

Enjoy Pleasure Boating

After breakfast, we drive to Periyar, hometown of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.

On arrival at Thekkady, check into the Periyar Jungle Resort. There is time for relaxation.

Later we take you to enjoy a rather unusual way of exploring a wild reserve – aboard a boat.

The picturesque Periyar Lake is a beautiful setting. Your boat ride affords views of elephant herds and bison. If you are lucky enough you can spot more exotic animals. Don’t forget to take your binoculars!

DAY 6

At Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

Enjoy Day Tours

Today we go on trekking trails that take us closer to the majestic Nature in this area – an exciting experience.

Later, visit a Spice planatation garden to get a feel of spice industry based here.

DAY 7

Onto Kumarakom (125 Kms-3.30 hrs)

Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary

After breakfast, we proceed to Kumarakom – the spectacular and inviting backwater destination.

Arrive at Kumarakom by noon. Check into the Kumarakom Backwater Resort. The rest of the day is your canvas to draw the amazing backwater experiences possible here.

We now take you to view the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary located in an island in the backwaters. Watch exotic birds, the migratory Siberian Stork among them, lead their normal lives unaware of you or your binoculars.

DAY 9

Proceed to Alleppey by Houseboat

Check into the Houseboat

In the morning Check out from the Resort &  proceed to Alleppey by a memorable Houseboat cruise. Your houseboat is a typically huge traditional boat made of Anjili wood. It has two attached bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen, toilet, and balcony.

On board, enjoy the scenery and serenity around.

Glide through dreamy landscapes till nightfall. Then, the boat casts anchor right in the middle of the romantic waterway. Wow! It is cool blue waters, a blue sky and a starry night.
It goes without saying that you overnight on the boat.

DAY 8

Onto Cochin (65Kms-1.30 Hrs)

Enjoy Kathakali Show

In the morning the boat will reach Alleppey.After breakfast check out from the Houseboat & we drive you to Cochin – ‘the Queen of the Arabian Sea’.

Check in to your resort on arrival.

Till evening, the day is free for you to relax & for shopping.

In the evening, we take you to witness one of the most colourful and exquisite performing arts in the world – Kathakali. After two hours of glorious entertainment, remember to get photographed with the Kathakali performer.

DAY 9

Sight seeing at Cochin

Country Craft Cruise as Special

After breakfast, proceed on a guided tour in and around Cochin.

See the historic Dutch Palace – a tribute to the relationship between the two cultures during the previous centuries.

We will also see the only Jewish Synagogue in India at Mattancherry; only one direct descendant of the family that set up this shrine is now alive.

Reach back mainland Cochin by noon. Enjoy your lunch.

Next get ready for a too-good-to-believe experience – a country craft canal cruise out of suburban Cochin to the interiors. In course of your expedition, peep at the rural Kerala life from close quarters. Enjoy the peace.

We get back to your hotel by evening. You are free to explore the streets downtown on your own.

DAY-11

Proceed to Varkala(190 Kms-4 Hrs)

Emjoy sun ‘n’ surf

In the morning proceed to Varkala-one of the small but finest beaches in Kerala.Arrive at Varkala by noon and check into your resort.

The rest of the day is free for you to survey the sprawling beach and the horizons beyond. If you are in an adventurous mood, climb the cliffs in the beach’s background and attempt hang-gliding.

DAY 12

Enjoy Varkala Beach and Beyond

After or before breakfast, continue your romance with the ‘Papanasini Beach’. Enjoy the full day in the beach.

Otherwise, an optional side tour to Sivagiri – the memorial of popular social-reformer Sri Narayana Guru – is for you to take. Drink in the tranquillity.

Return Home

The Dream Days come to an end.

After breakfast, we take you back to Trivandrum. We drive you to the airport.

It is time to end your Sunglided Coastal Tour. But all goods things have an end too.
