It has been widely used for curing Rheumatic and other chronic diseases by various methods of indigenous medicinal application. Till 1990’s Ayurveda’s importance was limited in our knowledge only but after that it has spreaded its wings to the Horizon…Many exclusive Ayurvedic resorts were started functioning in many corners of the state and many ready made packages were formulated to satisfy the guests. The most popularized ones are Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Package and Ayurvdic Purification Package, which will extend for 7 Days, 14 days, and 21 Days etc.
Now ayurveda is the most selling tourist Product of Kerala and its Brand name reputation is vey high.
BACKWATERS
No doubt, this is the only product, which attracts maximum no. of Domestic & Inter national Tourists to Kerala.Not only accommodation, but the cruises through the Backwaters give a unique opportunity for the guests to explore the natural virgin life of Keralites and their day-to-day lively activities.
Kumarakom & Alleppey were emerged as the top Backwater Destinations followed by
Kollam, & Poovar. The Top resorts of Kerala are now located along the Ashtamudi & Vembanad backwaters and by the soothing experience gained from these traditional resorts, the guests are tempted to visit the spot again & again. In the coming years too, this Tourism Product will attract a considerable chunk of Tourists to our state.

Ayurvedic Resorts
If a patient comes for a Rejuvenation Package for 7 Days, he is undergoing Ayurveda Treatment for 2 hours a day. Rest of the entire day is idle and he is supposed to be remaining there in a single destination. But some resorts offer some sight seeing Tours in & around the resort but on extra payment only. It adds the burden on the guest who already pays huge amount for the treatment.
So we can summarise here two points:
a. Those who choose ayurvedic resorts will undergo treatment for 2 hrs a day only and the rest of the time is idle.
b.to undertake extra sightseeing, he has to pay more.
Backwater Resorts
Almost all backwater resorts have a small Ayurvedic Division for Massaging and other minor Ayurvedic treatments. Hence those inmates who want an Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Therapy have little chance to fulfill his dream! The doctors will not be competent, the facilities will not be adequate to satisfy the requirements, and follow-ups will not be taken care off by the resort authorities.

House boats
House Boats are the best options to explore the Backwaters of Kerala.The cruises through the boat explore the Kerala village life & the scenic attractions of our land .
But a guest who enjoys a cruise in House Boat also experiences so many limitations.
a. Since 90 % of the houseboats are plying in Alleppey-Kumarakom Sector, they will get only 4 hrs travel a day and limited chance to explore the beauty of Kerala.

Ayur Nauka is the 1st Ayurvedic House Boat in India.

Facilities in Ayur voyages
AYUR NAUKA is built in Anjili wood at a length of 90 feet length and 16 feet width. It will have two decks, one lower and the other upper.
LOWER DECK FACILITIES
Bed Rooms
• Three Luxury bedrooms will be set up at the lower deck. All of them with attached toilets.
• The glasswindows in the Bedrooms provide an enchanting view of Backwaters with out any obstructions.
• All bedrooms will have two twin bedded cots, & a table with drawer and a cupboard.
• All the bedrooms are Air Conditioned with superior cooling effect.
• Fans & lights are fitted in all the Bedrooms.
• Traditional style wooden flooring is done in the lower & upper decks.
Toilets
• All the bedrooms will have attached Toilets.
• All the toilets have shower facility with phone shower, European closet, shower tray, washbasin, Mirror etc .
• Floor tiles will be used and walls with sun line tapering.
Kitchen
• Kitchen is the key part of the boat.
• Most sophisticated kitchen equipments are fitted which facilitates cooking much easier and comfortable!Provisions for gas connection, utensil-placing cupboard, fire Aluminum covering to protect from fire etc are the specialites
Foyer
• At the middle of the portion is the foyer section to sit & relax. This will be the open area for sightseeing and other relaxation activities.Even angling can be done from there at leisure.
• Its sides are fully opened for getting the panoramic view of backwaters.
UPPER DECK FACILITIES
From the lower deck there are up stairs to the upper deck. This section mainly covers on the guest room ,Staff Rooms,Doctor’s cabin,and various Ayurvedic sections which include.
Massage Room
• At the center portion the Main Massage room is designed with a dimension of 9x13.2.
• It contains ENNA THONI and other materials for Massaging and other treatment.
• Massage room is also provided with attached Bath room with Hot water facility.
Steam bath Room
• This room is also exclusively for Ayurvedic steam bath.
• Steam bath with Boiler and other accessories are arranged here.
Doctor’s Cabin
• To meet the Doctor for diagnosis and discussion, a cabin room is arranged.
• Also it can be used to take rest by the guests after treatment.
Guest Room
• For the special guests who need special care through out the treatment shall occupy the guest room ,which has all facilities of the Bed room with attached Toilet.
• The additional advantage of this room is it’s opening to the Sitting lounge and easy accessibility to the Ayurvedic Section.
Open Lounge
• A very spacious completely(except the roofing) open area for relaxation & enjoyment..Such a big sized lounge has been chosen to accommodate all the guests in the open space at a time for the dinner and also to arrange some cultural shows ‘live’.
• This will be the biggest area in the houseboat. Enough number of Chairs & large dining table are provided.
Doctor’s Cabin
• In the Top deck, Doctor’s cabin has been be set up, so that he can enter all ayuvedic areas easily as and when needed.
Staff Room
• For all the Ayurvedic staff in the House boat ,dormitory type accommodation is provided.
• Standard facilities are provided in this room.
Toilets
• In the upper deck also a total of Four Toilets are provided which are attached to the rooms.
• All the facilities mentioned in the toilets of Lower deck are provided in the upper deck also.
Ayurvedic Library
• In order to get awareness about Ayurveda among the guests,a full fledged Ayurvedic library is opened in this boat.The English version of the Ayurvedic books shall be made available in this Library.All the doubts related with can be clarified with the Doctor on duty as his service is available onboard round the clock for all the days. |
